🎵 About Me

Hello! My name is Mingyang Yao (姚铭洋). I am incoming PhD student of Audio Information Research Lab at University of Rochester under supervision of Prof. Zhiyao Duan. My research interests lie in music generation, information retrieval and representation learning.

Previously, I finished my double major of Mathematics-Computer Science and Cognitive with specialization in Machine Learning and Neural Computation from UC San Diego. In UCSD, I was fortunate to be advised by wonderful mentor Ke Chen. I was adviced by Professor Taylor Berg-Kirkpatrick and Shlomo Dubnov as well. Outside my AI music interest, I also lead data analysis project in psychiatry and involve other data mining projects under supervision of Professor Francesca Telese
